WRAP West Oxfordshire was set up by Lauren in 2014 as a social group for families interested in babywearing, reusable nappies and attachment parenting. Rachel joined in 2015 to help with running the meetings and provide cake, and Victoria became a co-facilitator in 2016 and will be doing her babywearing peer support training in 2017.
APUK West Oxfordshire meet every Thursday at the Eynsham Scout HQ from 10am to 12pm. You don’t need to come to the whole session, just call in when you can. All family members welcome – dads, expectant mums, older children, grandparents. They usually have a mix of bumps and children from newborn to preschool/home educated.
They provide a selection of hot and cold drinks and a home-made cake (usually gluten-free) and have a selection of toys for open-ended play.
During each month, they follow this schedule but check their facebook page for updates:
First Thursday – Simplicity Circle, Swap Shop & Selling Table
– Swap Shop – Bring along any unwanted baby items, clothes or anything else you’d like to pass on for free. Items in good condition only please! What doesn’t get re-homed at the meet will be taken to a local charity shop.
– Selling Table – If you have any items to sell, please label them clearly with your name and asking price. Anything not sold or taken home by its owner will also go to the charity shop!
Second Thursday – Babywearing related topic or demonstration, or outside speaker
Third Thursday – Parenting discussion topic and library
Fourth Thursday – Messy play! Suitable for all ages – wear old clothes!
To cover the rent of the hall they ask for a suggested donation of £2.50 per family. Refreshments are provided free of charge.
