Creation Station, Bicester

creation station, art class, preschool, bicester

The Creation Station run art classes for pre schoolers.  They love having fun with different materials – paint, glue and, of course, a bit of glitter – but they also believe that being creative is about experimenting, playing and just seeing what happens.

Giving expression to your own imagination in a group setting provides lots of benefits. It helps young children learn to make choices, share, listen, observe, pretend, problem solve, as well as play and interact with others.

The Creation Station isn’t simply about learning how to paint, model or collage along the lines of “Here’s one we did earlier”. It’s all about having a go, being inspired by something quite simple and encouraging each person to develop their own ideas. It’s amazing seeing that happen and it also gives you a huge boost of confidence when your ideas are taken seriously – no matter how old you are!

I was lucky enough to be invited to a session in Thame (click here for the review) and now there is a class that has opened in Bicester by Julia Martin, a local mum of two.

There are sessions running on Wednesdays and Fridays from the Tesco Community Sapce on Lakeside Drive.  Classes take place in the community space at the back of the store beside Tesco Mobile. There is ample free parking and baby change facilities along with free tea/coffee and water. Pushchair parking is limited in the room.

Creation Station Costs

They don’t offer a free taster due to the material costs involved in a session but the BOGOF Offer (buy one get one free) for the first two sessions (£6.50)  is a good way to see what the sessions are all about, available at any point during term providing there is space.

The classes are structured, with sessions planned to build learning throughout the term, so termly booking enables you and your child to get the most benefit from the classes. When booked termly, classes are £5.50 per class, £3.00 for a sibling. The full 13 week term is £71.50 (£60.50 if the BOGOF is used for the first 2 classes), £39 for a sibling (£33 if the BOGOF is used for the first 2 classes).

If you are unable to commit to the whole term but would still like to come along regularly then please do get in touch. You can attend any 7 sessions in the term for £6.00 per session, £3.50 for a sibling, paid at the start of term.
