Willow Lantern Walk at Waddesdon Manor
11 November, 2017 - 2 January, 2018
Take a stroll down the illuminated woodland trail this Christmas at Waddesdon Manor.
Follow the magical illuminated woodland trail down Miss Alice’s Drive where willow lanterns have been created on a theme inspired by the traditional English folk tale, the ‘Battle of the Oak and Holly Kings’. Made by local school children the lanterns highlight native species of animals that have lived or still live in England and that are sacred in English folklore.
You’ll begin the walk through a specially commissioned artwork by light artist Anna Whetstone. She has created an archway of individually lit metal oak leaves engraved by children with their name and their hope for the future, entitled ‘From Little Acorns Mighty Oaks Do Grow’.
