Red Ted’s phonics & Literacy classes, run by The Nature Nurture Effect, are for children aged 2.5-5 yrs. Using the Jolly Phonics system in these phonics classes, children are taught synthetic phonics during regular weekly classes. Classes are held on a Saturday morning, lasting 1 hour.
Children attend a session per week, and classes are broken down into terms. Each term consists of 10 – 12 weeks, enabling each child to be introduced to all the letters of the alphabet. Our aim is to encourage each child to recognise all letters of the alphabet, to sound these phonetically with the potential to use letter sounds to read and spell. We keep our classes small to allow for individual attention and enable children to thrive. Over the period of each session we focus on learning through play, and having fun in a language rich environment.
Classes consist of fun activities including team games, arts and crafts, mark making, singing and listening games. Classes are designed to complement the Early Years Foundation Stage, as well as give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to excel with their learning and in particular their reading when starting school.

Phonics Classes Fees:
The fee for each session is £8. This is for 60 minutes tuition with a maximum of 12 children per class. Fees are payable termly in advance, and are non returnable if a session is missed.
The level of fee reflects the face-to-face tuition by a qualified Early Years teacher as well as time spent planning and preparing the materials needed for each session. Parents are not required to stay for the session and therefore they take full responsibility for looking after your child, which is also reflected in the fees.
