Best Pick Your Own Farms in Cheshire

There is nothing better than picking your own fruit and vegetables and it’s a great way to get children involved to encourage them to try new foods. Fresh food tastes really good too and the whole experience is rewarding, good fun and one where the whole family can take part.

but several are open for you to visit and enjoy. Just make sure you check their
website or facebook page for up to date information before you set off.

Kenyon Hall Farm

Kenyon Hall Farm is half way between Manchester and Liverpool near Warrington. Not only can you pick your own fruit but there is also a farm shop full of local produce, a plant centre, a Maize maze opening 21st July and take away café. You must book a picking slot before visiting to pick strawberries, as they currently need to restrict numbers to keep everyone safe. Book on their web page to see slots available 2-3 days in advance. It isn’t possible to book by phone, email etc. Prices for £3 per person.

Woore Fruit Farm

Woore Farm near Crewe has some good  reviews for being a family friendly place to visit with children. The farm opens seasonally from end of May to end of September, October weekends and half term for Pumpkins and Bradley apples.  They grow a wide range of fruit and vegetables and you can buy fresh eggs too. Always check on their facebook page for up to date information about what fruits are available for picking on the day as this can change depending on demand.  No need to book! Opening times are 9.30am – 5.00pm unless there is no fruit left to pick. Prices from £4 for a small basket.

Shawbury Fruit Farm

Shawbury Fruit Farm currently has loads of ready to pick, ripe and delicious strawberries raspberries and goosberries, potatoes and veg and is a lovely trip out for all of the family. Open 6 days a week 9:30am until 5pm Tuesday through to Sunday (only closed on a Monday) during summer months. Their website gives you more information about what is available each month so you can plan your visit. Take a picnic as a small marquee with tables and a grassy area are available.

Bearstone Fruit Farm

Bearstone Farm is a little further afield on the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire borders but offers pickers a wide range of seasonal fruit and veg to collect.

Bellis Brothers Farm Shop and Garden Centre

At Bellis Brothers Farm shop near Wrexham strawberries are no longer available for picking now but pumpkins will be ready for Halloween in October 2020. There is also a garden centre, farm shop, Strawberry Restaurant, and children’s playground so something for everyone.
