Camp Crusoe is a quintessentially British sleep-away summer camp where kids become part of a camp community and feel connected, valued, challenged, and supported.
It is the place where 8-15 year olds can get away from home and electronic gadgets to enjoy a whole host of fun and adventurous activities in a beautiful country house set in a rural environment, testing themselves, trying new things and making new friends.
Whether its archery or SUP-ing, arts and crafts or drama, bushcraft or capture the flag, there is something for every child to enjoy with new friends, making lifelong memories along the way.
Based at Nettlecombe Court in Somerset, Camp Crusoe is an independent family run residential summer camp which takes having fun incredibly seriously. With an extensive program of activities that appeals to every type of child, from water-sports to drama, archery to photography, Camp Crusoe offers the opportunity for each camper to grow in confidence, improve their decision making skills and maybe discover a new lifelong hobby.
The core team have many years experience working with children both on summer camps and in the classroom, and are supported by a highly trained and motivated team of camp counsellors, many of whom have worked at camp before and are planning a career working with children. Staff to camper ratio is 1:5 throughout, fresh and nutritious meals are prepared by a fantastic kitchen team and the camp nurse is on hand to help if any camper needs any medical attention or just a chat.
Camp Crusoe is the perfect size. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends with no more than 80 campers per session. Safe and secure single-sex dorms make for the perfect accomodation and plenty of indoor space ensures the weather can’t spoils things. Over the course of camp, bonds are forged that last well after campers return home, sometimes a lifetime.
Camp Crusoe is about allowing children the time and space to be exactly that – children. Fun and personal development is the ultimate aim, while also giving the campers an opportunity to learn so much both about themselves and about being part of something larger.
