Hemel soft play that is clean, bright and fun!
We have been to DJ’s Soft Play in Berkhamsted lots of times but this was only our second visit to Hemel. The Hemel Soft Play is much bigger and has extra activities.
What is there to do?
- DJ’s in Hemel has the following areas and activities:
- Enclosed play space for Under 2’s with sensory dark area
- Enclosed multi-level play space for Under 4’s with little tikes ride ons
- Huge multi-level play frame for Over 4’s with several slides.
- Enclosed football/basketball zone
- Electric ride on cars (£1 per ride when open)
- Laser tag (pre book for parties and groups)
- Role play village with fire engine and pole
- Interactive floor game (in one of the side sections)
- Cafe with great range of food and drinks
- Free Wi-Fi
What age is it for?
This Soft Play is best for the Under 8’s in my opinion due to the level of challenge. I feel it is probably a bit too ‘easy’ for the bigger kids. There is lots of space for the babies and toddlers and the play frames are big enough for adults to climb in to support their children or rescue them!
Children have to be age 3 to go on the electric cars but there is still lots for toddlers to keep busy. My kids spent ages playing the interactive light up floor game in the side space by the role play village.
I saw a huge stack of jumparoos and bouncers which I know have previously been available but are not out at the moment.
We like the visibility in this soft play as the seating area is really well positioned with extra tables, chairs and sofas right next to the babies and toddlers areas so that you can sit close by if you are not in the play frame or so you can see your bags. (There are also lockers available if you needed them.)
Food and Drink
I think the food and drink range is really good and is also good value. There are lots of homemade options and a huge selection of drinks. The usual lunchbox options are available too so you don’t have to worry about there being something to eat or drink. There is also a microwave and hot water supply for heating baby food and bottles.
Accessibility and SEN
DJs is accessed by stairs or via a lift and has wide gates and spaces for access with buggy and wheelchairs. There are toilets which all have changing areas and wide doorways with turning space. There is also an accessible toilet.
DJs has designated SEN sessions which is a fantastic offering. This takes place as an exclusive SEN session on the third Saturday of every month at 8.30am – 9.30am.
