Twits & Tricks at The Roald Dahl Museum

It’s all things Twits & Tricks at The Roald Dahl Museum this October half term.
Stay late at the Museum for some Halloween fun! Take part in our village trick-or-treat trail with a sweetie surprise at the end, enjoy some spooky drop-in crafts and get your face painted. During the day there will also be clay workshops and a guided village tour.
Halloween Late Night Special – 30th Oct
Stay late at the Museum for some Halloween fun! Take part in the village trick-or-treat trail with a sweetie surprise at the end, enjoy some spooky drop-in crafts and get your face painted.
Upside Down Clay Workshop – Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October
Make a 3D clay tile inspired by The Twits and their upturned home.
Create a flat tile to form the ceiling and then model clay furniture to add to it. It could be your favourite room, a made-up room or a Roald Dahl one!
Disgusterous Dinners Clay Workshop – Wednesday 29, Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October
Take a tip from the Twits and make a clay version of some gruesome grub! Will you hide birds in the pie or worms in the spaghetti? The museum will help you come up with ideas of your own, make it in clay and then they’ll do the cleaning up! For age 5 and over.
Guided Tour -Tuesday 28 October
Take a guided tour around the village with expert guide Michael. He’ll show you some of the places that inspired the books, including Matilda’s library and Sophie’s orphanage from The BFG. While you wander, he’ll read extracts from the books featuring some fantastic – if slightly naughty – TRICKS.
Find out about newts in water jugs, pheasants in prams and dead mice in sweet jars. Don’t try any of this at home, though — you have been warned!
Storytelling from The Twits and Revolting Rhymes
Head to the indoor Wondrous Woods room to enjoy storytelling from The Twits and Revolting Rhymes, led by expert storytellers. They’ll bring the words to life and you can join in with noises and actions. Storytelling is free with Museum entry. There’s no need to book a space, but you can book your Museum entry tickets in advance.
