Reading Borough Council Holiday Playclubs are a full childcare facility for children aged 4 years old (in full time education) to 12 year old (up to their 13th birthday) during the school holidays. Children are fully supervised within an open play service, and enjoy a variety of safe and exciting activities in comfortable surroundings. All the activities we offer abide by the Reading Play principles, encouraging fun activities that aim to meet learning objectives in a controlled, safe environment.
The Hill Primary School
They offer full childcare Monday to Friday throughout half terms, Easter and Summer holidays across the year. They work on a one to eight staff to child ratio.
Day to day activities include art and crafts, games and sports. Such as create a cuddly toy, magnet designs, painting, drawing, modeling and colouring activities. Children are welcome to take home the work they produce. We play indoor and outdoor group games also play sports such as football, badminton and tennis. We always provide a quiet area which is available to rest with cushions where children can relax or read books.
In Easter and Summer holidays they provide additional specialist activities for the clubs. Some recent examples include, circus skills, archery, exotic animals, climbing wall and go-karts.
They also organise trips out to museums, parks, Cinema, and the theatre. These trips will require additional costs if your child wishes to attend.
