Madagascar The Musical Review

Upbeat and lively from start to finish, Madagascar the Musical had the whole audience bopping in their seats.  My 7 year old and I were lucky to be invited along to watch the performance at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre who are on the circuit for lots of amazing performances.

Madagascar Musical review

Amazing costumes, animated puppets with personality and catchy songs, the colourful performance had my son transfixed and I absolutely loved it too.  Following a story of friendship and adventure and staring popular TV Presenter, theatre performer and Strictly finalist Karim Zeroual this is a great show to see for all ages.

Alex the Lion suitably commands the stage, Gloria the Hippo has great sass and belting vocals, Marty the Zebra had my son giggling as Alex was tempted to bite his bottom and of course we can’t forget the fantastic giraffe.

Just like the movie, the cheeky penguins on their mission were so engaging.  Played as large puppets you almost forget there’s someone behind.

I defy anyone to write a review of Madagascar the Musical and not mention King Julien.  He is hilarious and had everyone belly laughing and up on their feet to move it move it.
