The IB Diploma
St Clare’s have been offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma for over 40 years, longer than any other school or college in England. The International Baccalaureate Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification for students aged 16 to 18.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma enables students to study a range of subjects at standard or higher level, encouraging depth and breadth of knowledge across the IB curriculum. Providing in-depth preparation for university, students regularly win places at Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics, Imperial and other leading UK universities, as well as Harvard, Yale and Stanford in the USA.

Middle School Programme
The Middle School Programme at St Clare’s Oxford provides quality academic teaching to support progression to the IB Diploma. Students start at age 14 for the 2 year course, benefiting from small class sizes with a maximum of 15 students. Taught by specialist teachers, this internationally recognised qualification enriches subject knowledge in the key areas covered in the IB Diploma including English Literature, English Language, Maths, Arts, Humanities and Science.
A key aspect of the Middle School Programme is the emphasis on skills development and establishing a globally-minded outlook. This links in with the qualities and attributes of the IB learner profile which encourages learners to become knowledgeable, open minded, inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, risk-takers, reflective, balanced and caring.
Careers & Education
The St Clare’s Oxford careers programme encourages students to engage with their career development journey through education, personal research and guidance. An experienced team supports students to successfully navigate the higher education applications processes across the globe and provide expertise on a range of career development options including gap year planning, apprenticeships and internships.
Higher education and careers guidance continues from joining St Clare’s Oxford and beyond until 3 years after graduation.
Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) is an integral part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma at St Clare’s Oxford. It provides an excellent framework to stimulate personal growth and develop the whole person through new experiences. Students are offered over 50 Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) experiences to choose from each week.
As well as the stimulating CAS programme, the academic provision includes sports and social activities at the college.
