When the weather warms up, eating outdoor with kids is such a lovely treat. Pub Gardens & Outdoor Dining in Bucks
Gray’s Inn, Wooburn Green (near High Wycombe)
A contemporary, country pub in the beautiful village of Wooburn Green, they have a large garden with children’s play frame.
The Jolly Farmer, Cookham (near Marlow)
The Jolly Farmer is a historic traditional pub located in the beautiful countryside of Cookham Dean. The pub dates back to 1788 and many of its original features are still in place. They have a stunning beer garden, offering the best spot in Cookham for a refreshing drink or an alfresco meal when the sun is shining.
The Barn, Hulcott near Aylesbury
Situated just outside Aylesbury in the village of Hulcott, this 200 year old restored building is a fantastic venue for a child-friendly breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake stop. With an indoor and outdoor play area for children, it’s an winner. Worth noting that it’s closed on Saturday for private functions as it’s a popular barn wedding venue.
Crow’s Nest (Beefeater), near Aston Clinton
Technically they’re in Hertfordshire but they were recommended as having a play area.
The Harrow Bishopstone, Aylesbury
They have a large outdoor covered and heated lodge, complete with outside bar, as well as a further covered and heated pergola. There is also plenty of room around the rest of the garden and patio, with ample table umbrella’s
The Oak, Aston Clinton
The Oak has been a favourite Aston Clinton family pub for centuries, and has had a big part in the history of the village. Great beer, friendly staff and excellent food make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The children’s play area was temporarily closed during covid. Please do let us know if you’ve been recently and it’s back open.
Red Lion, Evenley (near Brackley)
This would be great to combine with a trip to the wonderful Evenley Wood Gardens. They serve food 7 days a week.
Air Adventures Cafe & Bar
Watch small helicopters take off and land right outside the cafe. Great food for adults and kids, lots of parking and an outdoor area with great views.

Harte & Magpies, Coleshill (near Amersham)
Dogs and wellies are welcome too. The kids climbing frame was temporarily closed during covid – do let us know if you’ve been and it’s back open.
The Jolly Sportsman, Chesham
A family friendly pub with outdoor space to enjoy.
The Bedford Arms Hotel, Chenies
The Bedford Arms is a classic English country house hotel with a garden to enjoy eating out in.

Akeman Inn, Kingswood
A beautiful rural destination pub restaurant in Buckinghamshire (near Bicester Village), Brunch and prosecco with friends, Sunday roast with the family or even just a coffee and a natter after a walk with the dog. Sounds good to me!
The Galleon, Milton Keynes
The outdoor garden includes a little children’s play area.
Wolverton House, Milton Keynes
They have a large outdoor area and next to a children’s play area with a big kids and toddler section.
The Old Crown, Ashton
The Old Crown in Ashton (not too far from Milton Keynes) have the facilities to cater for anything the British weather has to offer us and plenty of room for little ones to run around and entertain themselves in their outdoor play area.

While the Caldecotte doesn’t have it’s own playpark it’s right next to a great little one and you can combine it with a family walk at Caldecotte Lake.
