The best place to head to if you’re embarking on the fun task of teaching your little one how to ride a bike!
Free to use, this circular tarmac wide pathed space offers a 2.7k walk on a non muddy path. It sits inside the famous Ascot Racecourse with views of the impressive grandstand. The heath is open to public access on non race days so be sure to check their schedule before heading out Ascot Racecourse.
This is a popular one with my boys. They love the freedom to scoot on smooth paths. The wide flat paths make this ideal for buggies, bikes, scooters and wheel chairs.
It surprisingly also features a small play park which swings, climbing equipment and a slide, which offers a welcome pit stop.
The heath has grassland with hedges and ditches where rabbits and other wildlife have been spotted. There is also a central lake which is beautiful on sunny days.
There are no open facilities here for refreshments or toilet, but the main entrance is on Ascot High Street which has a variety of coffee shops.
There isn’t a dedicated car park. You can access either using the pedestrian underpass off Ascot High Street or using the free curbside parking by the slop to Holloway Underpass (approx. postcode SL5 7LJ).
