Aston Clinton Park (and their old soft play) was great but is now even BETTER!
The new Red Kite Pavilion and Your Cafe In The Park with soft play opened its doors in March for takeaways only and is now open for eating in and for groups, classes and daily soft play.

Your Cafe in the Park
I have loved this cafe at the park since my children were little. We spend a lot of time at the park and I used to walk the buggy and grab a drink or lunch. I have always found the food really tasty and very reasonable. They also have a BBQ on Friday nights 4-7pm which we are yet to try.
The Cafe also offers kids lunchboxes with fresh sandwiches made to order.
There are several unique things about Aston Clinton cafe …
- 2 separate cafe areas, one area as you go in for all customers with a variety of seats and tables, some nice comfy ones too! Also has wi-fi and is dog friendly. The other area is in the large hall which is the other side of the serving area and has more space, big tables for families of groups and high chairs, space for the kids to play and soft play!
- Parking right outside for great accessibility
- One of the best parks in the area for a range of ages and things to do including the skate park, play area, sports court, fitness trail, stream and bridges. ( I will review the park in another blog post)
- Brand new building so all clean, fresh, accessible with clean new facilities. Toilets, changing facilities, lift access and changing rooms for sports.
Soft Play
As you enter the building you will find the cafe area and through the other side is a large hall. The hall itself can be split in two with dividers when groups are running. The hall has lots of family friendly tables and high chairs spread out with the soft play area at one end of the room. This is not a soft play with a play frame, is is pack away equipment but is great for the little ones.
The soft play area has a large area of soft matting (take your shoes off) with a large bouncy castle which has a slide. There is also a Little Tykes small climbing frame with slide, lots of soft play shapes and animals and a selection of ride on toys for use in the whole hall. In the past there has also been a few other items such a spinning and wobble boards and a climbing frame, these may get put out on other sessions but weren’t out on the day I visited.
The soft play area is only for 0-5 year olds and the timings reflect that as it is open on weekdays. Demand is high so booking online in advance is essential.. There is also some pre bookable classes which run and soft play is closed during these times. (Check their website and social media for the latest opening times due to classes and Covid.)
There is a £3 charge for soft play which is very fair as it is a true gem being able to relax somewhere bright and airy with good food and drinks and also have the park right outside.
I have spent hours here in the last 5 years in the old building and with the new building being 100 times better I think it will be a weekly outing.
