Looking for a fun filled family day of animal spotting, exploring, playing, learning, splashing, having fun and most of all creating precious memories then Beale Wildlife Park is the place to be.
The wildlife park and gardens are home to over 20 species of animals including lemurs, monkeys and owls, a stunning deer park and attractions to suit all ages. From the adventure playground, aerial cableway and sand pit to the amazing Little Tikes Outdoor Village.
We had a great ride on Howard the train which is a 1.6m track that runs from the station, Howard’s Halt, near the site entrance and loops around much of the park, offering excellent views of some of the animals, from Shetland ponies to Meerkats. This is a great way to see some of the park whilst giving your feet a welcomed break.
Exploring the park we were able to see meerkats, lemurs, wallaby’s, various reptiles, tortoises, pines, goats, pigs, zebras, emu’s, prairie dogs, tapir, lynx, owls, wildcats and many more species of animals.
Taking a break from animal watching, the play area is a child’s dream. There is a splash pool where you can cool down which is perfect during the warmer weather, a giant sand pit area which has small diggers to play on, various climbing apparatus, swings, slides, rockers, jumping pillows and ropes to play on.
The main play area is a wooden ship where you can climb up on, slide down the slide, do some role play and explore the wooden shop.
A huge hit with my little boy was The Little Tikes Village which is perfect for younger ones with little houses, slides, police cars, trikes, traffic lights and even a zebra crossing! Noah loved filling up his little car at the petrol pump. It’s also great as it’s fully enclosed and benches inside to sit on.
Also if the weather is feeling is not so kind or you fancy a break from the sunshine then there is also an indoor play area too. Which again has soft play equipment, Little Tikes houses and some cars too.
If you get the chance to admire the gardens and lakes, they are beautifully landscaped with wonderful trails and some really stunning sculptures. The vast amount of colours from the ever blooming flowers is truest breathtaking.
Around the park are various picnic benches or grass areas where you can sit and have a bite to eat. Or if you fancy eating out then the Peacock Restaurant which is situated in the middle of the park sells a wide range of hot and cold food.
Throughout the year there are various special events which the park puts on. We went to the Summer Safari weekend where included in the price was a huge bouncy castle which you could have numerous goes on, a balloon modelling man, a bubble lady, pony parades and also a big handling experience. We also collected a Zookeepers passport which gave us little activities to do whilst we explored the park in exchange for a stamp, this was a fun task to complete and gave us more learning opportunities too.
