We were invited along today to explore what Brooklands Museum has to offer for the half term week, so off we went exploring with Noah and Isabella. Our first stop was the Concorde experience with a lovely volunteer who explained Concordes history to us.

We were then able to go and explore Brooklands Museums very own Concorde Delta Golf. On board we were able to explore and watch a video about its history whilst learning facts about the journeys it has taken. Part of the experience was also a virtual flight where we could experience what flying at supersonic speed would feel like.

There was a racing car simulator which the little ones could sit in and experience what driving a real life racing car would feel like. Noah was too little for this as his feet couldn’t touch the pedals, but he still looked sitting in there and pretending to drive.

It’s every little boys dream to drive a racing car and today Noah’s dream came true, he had a lot of fun sitting in the car and playing with the steering wheel.

Tickets also include entrance to The London Bus Museum. Inside here you will find an array of buses from vintage right up to the current models. You are able to hop on and off the busses, there is a bus simulator where they can sit behind the wheel, bus themed toys and colouring. For an additional cost there is also daily bus tours of the surrounding area which you can explore on the double decker.

We then went to explore the Aircraft Factory which was incredible as there was a restored Wellington Bomber plane, which was great to see as my great grandad actually flew this type of plane during the war.

Noah loved looking at all the different planes, and was over the moon when he found out he could actually make his own metal plane. He was fascinated using the machine to create his masterpiece and was so proud once it was finished.

There are lots to old historic vehicles which you are able to walk around and explore, Noah did find these exhibitions tempting as he wanted to sit in the cars and touch them, but these were out of bounds.

At the centre of the McLaren, Driven by Design are two stunning supercars, the McLaren Senna GTR Concept and the McLaren Senna GTR Prototype. There is also a full-scale LEGO 720s model, and you also get the chance to build your own Lego car in here too.

If you need a bite to eat or refreshments whilst exploring the museum then why not head to the Sunbeams cafe where they serve an array of delicious hot and cold beverages and food.
