Bruern Farm Shop & Cafe

Set in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and within easy reach of Chipping Norton, Bruern Farm Shop & Cafe exudes charm both indoors and out.

I met up with a friend who visits regularly and what a treat!  It’s set on a working farm and was first a farm shop with the cafe opening at the end of 2022. The farm grows a variety of grains including heritage wheats and barley, and make their own sunflower oil. They even have their our own mill.

The farm cafe is gorgeous inside, flooded with light from the windows running down both sides and with a rustic Cotswold charm.

It was such a gorgeous sunny day when I visited so after googling the array of cakes, we headed outside.

There are picnic tables set up with views out across the farm fields.  For me this is where it goes from lovely cafe to being somewhere I could take my kids!  Always great to have space to run around.

Bruern Farm Cafe has the look and it delivered on breakfast too.  Breakfast is served from 9am – 12pm and there’s everything from a traditional breakfast to cinamon French toast.  My friend had scrambled eggs on sourdough and I couldn’t resist trying the mushrooms on toast.  The field mushrooms were sauteed with leeks and garlic and topped off with warm goat’s cheese, smothered over sourdough toast.  A generours portion that lasted me past lunchtime and absolutely delicious.  Children are catered for too with a mini Bruern breakfast or yoghurt & granola.

The service was friendly and relaxed and my friend and I chatted for ages in the sunshine.  It’s just one of those places you could hangout at for ages.  With just enough time to spare before dashing back to work, we took a quick look around the Bruern Farm Shop.

The farm shop stocks all of their own farm produce, including slow-grown, pasture-fed beef and lamb, free range pork, pastured eggs and wild venison. They also sell their own Bruern Bitter, sunflower oil and fresh flour from heritage grains grown at Bruern.   Local crafters feature too, a great way to find a more unique gift.  Keep an eye out too for the Milton Market which runs quarterly here showcasing the best Makers, Bakers, Shakers and creators rooted in the Cotswolds.

There’s more seating on through the farm shop too and keep an eye out for what my friend called ‘Chipping Norton doughnuts’ which I understand are totally indulgent and absolutely delicious.

@redkitedays BRUERN FARM SHOP & CAFE If you’ve been watching the goings on at the TV show Clarkson’s Farm and the mushroom growing at Diddly Squat, you might have caught a glimpse of Bruern Farm Shop & Cafe. I was watching last night and recognised it when Jeremy visited to sell his mushrooms. I visited for the first time last week and I’ll definitely be back. Set in the Cotswold countryside, it exudes charm both indoors and out and with friendly service too. They have a wonderful array of cakes and I can highly recommend breakfast sat outdoors on a sunny day. The farm shop is full of local produce from preserves to fresh bread, eggs and delicious bakery goods. #bruernfarmshop #farmshopcafe #cotswolds #spottedontv #oxfordshire #cafe #eatingoutoxfordshire #oxfordshireblogger ♬ original sound – Red Kite Days
