Bucklers Park Woodland Adventure Playground

We are huge fans of natural wooden play areas and open space for children, and here we have found a hidden gem. Just around the corner from the brand new Pioneer Play Park in Crowthorne and situated on the outside of Bucklers Forest is Bucklers Park Playground.

This play area runs alongside the new housing development, and is in a stunning location with Bucklers Forest surrounding it which provides the perfect setting for a playground trip and a nature walk too.

This natural playarea is unique and none others like it, but I would say that it would probably suit more to slightly older kids – although Isabella certainly gave it her all and managed to master all the incredible play equipment here.

The playground is full of great climbing equipment, where the children can literally be spiderman and climb to the top of the tower. One of our favourite sections of the playground was the dual zip line – this meant that it gave Isabella and I the opportunity to have races down the line. Also means if you have more than one child there will be no squabbles in having to take turns.

Near to the zip wire there is also a tyre rope swing, hammock swing – which looked very relaxing. Then just inside the forest itself a few steps away there is the wooden climbing frame with monkey bars, stepping logs, wobbly bridge and other obstacles.

There are also two hammocks and a large rope climbing frame. Isabella loved being able to do the monkey bars, and also practicing her balancing skills on the stepping logs.

The only downside is that there isn’t a car park attached to the playground itself. I parked at Bucklers car park which was a short walk away, or the perfect excuse for a scoot. It is inside a residential area so street parking is an option but please do park considerately.

There are also picnic benches in the area too which would provide a great place for a picnic. With beautiful views overlooking a wildflower area and a little street (just watch little ones near the water).

This is such a great playground for the children, it’s open spaced and all natural equipment. Plus once you’ve had enough of playing in here, you can then go for a walk through the forest and take in the wonderful nature around you.
