Last weekend we visited the The Bucks Goat Centre and it was such a lovely way to spend the morning. This is such a nice place to visit and feed some animals and there are some extra fun things to do for the kids.
We bought some bags of food and started with walking round the outside walkway, seeing the fox, goats, sheep, fish and ducks. Then we went into the barn and saw some pigs rabbits, alpacas, Guinea pigs, a baby goat and there were some free roaming chickens!
On the way out of the barn we were lucky enough to see some of the staff taking the ferrets out for visitors to see and the boys were able to stroke them which they loved. Freddie now wants a ferret!
Sadly they lost Barnaby the fox last year (there were some lovely touches to him around the centre). They raised a lot of money to have Barnabys home rebuilt and it was lovely to see the new fox, Jasper settling in nicely. He’s a beautiful white fox, Freddie was in awe!
After seeing the animals the boys went to the play park at the centre, they played on the climbing frame, rode on ride on tractors, climbed and balanced on the obstacle course and played in the sandpit!
Then we finished the morning with tea and a lovely slice of homemade cake in the cafe.
The staff at the goat centre are all very friendly and will answer any questions. It’s clear they all love the animals but they also make it a really enjoyable experience for families!
The goat centre isn’t huge, so it’s not a full day out but I would highly recommend it for a morning or afternoon of fun. The animals were great, super vocal and they all came up to say hello!
