Bury Knowle is a beautiful park in Oxford’s Headington. It’s a lovely spot for a family picnic and has lots to keep the kids occupied.
As well as the pretty parkland where you can also find Headington library, there are tennis courts, basketball, table tennis and wildflower areas with floral displays.
Bury Knowle Children’s Play Park
The Narnia inspired children’s play area has all the favourites from a zipwire, sandpit, various different types of swings, climbing rocks and timber frames. There are also rocks to clamber over, a wooden pirate ship and carved wooden animals.
Just outside the main children’s play area, are the Storybook Tree and benches which have been designed and carved by local sculptor Matt Cave, all inspired by Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
There is VERY limited parking by the library, or paid parking at the carpark behind Waitrose with easy access to the park.
