An independent day school providing a liberal education to boys and girls from four to eighteen, Cokethorpe occupies 150 acres of glorious West Oxfordshire parkland, just ten miles from metropolitan Oxford, nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds’ renowned serenity.

This is achieved by delivering more than just an expansion of knowledge through classroom study. Pupils are taught how to explore their subjects, giving them the confidence to question their learning and, ultimately, the skillsets to achieve in any sphere, and at a level above that at which they thought themselves capable. As a Microsoft Showcase School, Cokethorpe is proud of the way it embraces modern technology, utilising it to support and augment teaching and learning, both in the classroom and beyond.
There is a great sense of community within the School, established by the close-knit House system, where young people develop a sense of belonging. This is further forged around the close working relationship of small classrooms, where our teachers engage the intellect, encourage deeper thinking, and teach lifelong respect and humility.
Beyond the classroom, every inch of the School’s 150 acres teems with activity, whether in one of myriad sporting offerings, the Forest School, Kitchen Garden or the extensive AOB (co-curricular) programme, providing over 160 clubs, societies and activities to pupils every week. Within the grounds there are also shooting ranges, a climbing tower, a nine-hole golf course, and wooded areas for outdoor education. The School also has a boat house on the nearby River Thames that is used for kayaking, in which the School has enjoyed great recent successes (recent U18 National Schools Kayaking Champions).
