Where on earth do you go for a family friendly meal out when your kids all like different things to eat? If you’re in Oxford then the answer is Cosmo!
Right in the centre of Oxford, it’s a great location if you’ve been shopping, to the museums or the theatre. My first trip was with my kids and a whole pile of their friends after a trip to the panto.
Cosmo is set up to be ideal for both large parties with their long tables but equally comfortable for a smaller group, although perhaps not the ideal spot if you wanted a quiet romantic dinner. There’s modern decor throughout so it definitely feels like a treat for the kids.
The food offering is essentially a buffet with a wide range of cuisines to keep everyone happy. My no.2 son is picky so he’s more than happy with pizza, garlic bread, chicken nuggets and sausages. However, with a more adventurous elder son, our visits have meant he’s had the chance to try a wider range of options from prawns to sushi.
The buffet includes everything from Indian and Chinese to a Sunday roast and mac & cheese. It’s all you can eat, so you can revisit as many times as you like and try a bit of everything.
What creates the massive wow factor for the kids (and I have to admit for me too) is the huge chocolate fountain with sweets and fresh fruit to dip in.
Prices vary depending on the day and time (from £8.50 to a peak of £16.99 plus drinks) with weekends and evenings being more expensive. Kids under 150cm are half price. There is a small charge for infants under three years dining at the restaurant: £3.00 for Dinner and £2.00 for Lunch.
