Situated in the historic village of Dunham Massey, just down the road from the National Trust site, you will find the Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm cafe inside a converted barn.
Their yummy ice cream is hand-made on the farm by Dianne, who came up with the recipe herself.
They have a fridge full of amazing and original flavours. When we visited, they had their Cheshire Sunflower Trail on, so they had a yummy sunflower flavour ice cream. It was a gorgeous custard ice cream with roasted sunflower seeds in. You can choose to have your ice cream in a few different cones, including a gluten free option or a tub.
If you’re after some lunch they also serve hot food options, including freshly made pizzas and toasties. Then finish off with a coffee, flavoured hot chocolate, or a cheeky cake. If you would like to take some ice cream home, they sell 1 litre tubs.
Throughout the year, they hold events such as an Easter trail, Sunflower trail, and a Pumpkin patch.
Inside the cafe there is also a lovely boutique shop selling beautiful gifts, jewellery and things you just want to buy as so lovely. We bought a sunflower head garland which would be fab as some festival wear.
There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Outside, they have a very large tipi style tent, which is decorated in lights and flowers with a heater in the middle. This is a lovely place to sit and enjoy your food. They also have goats around the back of the cafe and you can buy food for them for 50p from the cafe. (August 2023)
