Meet The Gruffalo at Hogshaw Farm
Oh crumbs! The Gruffalo will be appearing at intervals throughout August Bank Holiday Monday at Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park.
- Character appearances at intervals throughout the day from The Gruffalo
- Exciting animal encounter schedule featuring real mice, foxes, owls and snakes!
- Follow the special wildlife trail to claim a prize
- See other rare woodland dwellers, such as pine marten, polecats and red squirrel
- Go on a bug hunt and spot butterflies
- Get up-close to rare breed farm animals
- Enjoy plenty of outdoor play and explore the beautiful countryside location
Toys From The Past at Discover Bucks Museum (Aylesbury) Bank Holiday Monday
Handle real historical toys and make a Victorian toy to take home.

- learn how to use the sgraffito method to create your own historical picture
Tuff Nutterz giant inflatable obstacle course (Milton Keynes)
Experience Tuff Nutterz, the biggest inflatable obstacle courseat 300m long. Conquer towering walls, navigate tricky mazes, and take the plunge down the epic 6m ‘Tuff’ slide.
Live in the Park (Aylesbury) 24th August FREE
An entire day of continuous live music and family entertainment – Live in the Park will have music, bands, fun fair and lots of free family fun, including a Community Involvement Area and Market Stalls.
Viking Raid at Chiltern Open Air Museum (Chalfont St Giles) 25th – 26th August
The Vikings have arrived and taken over a Saxon settlement at the Chiltern Open Air Museum! Get involved in games, music, storytelling and fun activities from the Viking Age. Then join us to watch as the raid unfolds and see who wins in the battle between the Vicious Vikings and the Christian forces of Wessex.
My Year Walk with Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre (Great Missenden) Sunday 25th August
Suitable for ages 6+, grab your walking boots and enjoy a seasonal guided walk with the Roald Dahl Museum.
Sunflower field, maize maze and summer games at The Patch MK (Milton Keynes)
The Patch MK grow speciality sunflowers and wildflowers across over 50 acres. The flower fields are no ordinary pick your own, with over 500,000 sunflowers and 50 million wildflowers.
Alongside the Flower Fields are the Fun Fields, home to three individual maize mazes. The Labyrinth of Illusions, The UK’s largest living optical illusion, the Jurassic Maze, home to 14 giant dinosaurs and the musical maze with outdoor musical instruments, hidden within the twists and turns of the maze.
Lillingstone PYO sunflower field & summer activities (nr Buckingham)
Wander through Lillingtone Pick Your Own stunning sunflower paths around the Farm and capture some truly amazing photos as you meander through a sea of yellow blooms! Play-Patch will be open for the children to climb bale-mountain, dig in our sandpits, and burn off some extra energy! Bank Holiday Monday is the last chance to visit Lillingstone PYO this summer.
Beaconsfield Country Fayre (Beaconsfield) 26th August
This is a huge event with around 5000 attending during the day. There will be craft stalls, food stalls, cream teas, many children’s entertainments, plant and horticulture stall, Pimms, wine and beer stall, classic cars, dog show, charity stalls (for free) tug of war, children’s art show, and live music. A really fun day for all. All profits go to local charities and Cancer Research UK
Ministry of Science Live at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (Aylesbury) Sunday 25th August
100% Educational. 200% Entertaining. 300% Explosive. 400% Fun. Ministry of Science LIVE will be at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre for one explosive show on Sunday 25th August.
