How To Get Harry Potter Studio Tickets When They’re Sold Out

For Harry Potter fans, the Warners Bros Studio Tour London is a must visit.  Located just outside London, it’s the most amazing immersion into the making of the Harry Potter movies.  Tickets aren’t available on the door and they book out so far in advance that can seem impossible to buy tickets especially during the school holidays.

Top Tips for visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour – and getting those school holiday tickets!

Recently me and my seven year old packed our bags for a night away and a visit to the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour near Watford.

At first I couldn’t get my hands on tickets, even months in advance, but I then discovered that if you book through Holiday Extras who partner with the Studios then you can get a hotel which comes with studio tour tickets with great availability.

Our hotel, in the school holidays and just a few weeks before we travelled, was just over £200 for the night which included breakfast and our tour tickets. When you consider that tickets alone cost around £100 for two people I felt like this was good value – and it made our trip extra special to spend a night away together too.

As for the tour itself, wow! We were blown away. We are big Harry Potter fans and I’d recommend waiting till your kids are old enough to have seen some of the films or read the books to really appreciate it. From getting on the Hogwarts Express to seeing the Gryffindor Common room, there was so many amazing things to see. Gringotts really blew us away and we loved pulling up mandrakes in Professor Sprouts green house!

Half way round the tour is a cafe where you can also pick up a butter beer. You then get to walk around 4 Privet Drive and see the Knight Bus before heading into the character workshop.

The final part of the tour is the show stopping model of Hogwarts. It is so stunning that we actually hugged each other and got a bit emotional when we saw this, such a special memory to have with my boy who seems to get bigger and more grown up every single day!

It’s safe to say we’d recommend a trip to the studios, and if you’ve been struggling to find a ticket then the holiday package might work out well for you too.
