Two toddlers and a Cocker Spaniel on a boat…… what could possibly go wrong!………
Usually our adventures are on dry land, but this time we took to the river for some different family fun with Little Green Boat Company. We hired a 6x seater motor boot for the hour, and to explore the river.
After an informative safety briefing, we were shown on the map the best route to take for our voyage. Kitted out with life jackets for the children and adults (unfortunately four legged family members aren’t supplied with one) and a loaf of bread, we climbed upon our own little boat.
We sailed down the river taking in all the sights that the river offered, from cancel boats, rowing boats, a paddle boarder and lots of beautiful houses. We even went under a bridge whilst a train was crossing – which the children absolutely loved.
The highlight of the trip for us was feeding the swans, there were so many of them and they came right up to the boat. At one point I actually thought the swans were going to join us on board. Isabella was adamant she wanted to stroke the swan, and Cooper (the dog) just wanted to swim with them in the river.
On the way back we went round a small island for a slight change of scenery. It was a fun yet relaxed hour, Noah and Isabella were over the moon that they also got a chance at being captain too.
The weather wasn’t on our side during our visit, so we couldn’t explore as much as we would have liked to. However we did see that there was a crazy golf here, two awesome playgrounds, an outdoor gym and a splash pad area too. We will be coming back to explore this more.
