I always love getting recommendations of places to visit and was excited to hear about Lyall & Co coffee shop with Jessie’s Art Shed which opened just a few weeks ago on 4th Jan 2019.
I visited on a cold Monday morning in January. Walking into Lyall & Co makes you feel instantly calm. Large windows looking out into the pretty village of Eynsham allow the light to flood in and the muted colours, mellow music and rustic furniture feel just right.
A counter heaving with delicious cakes and buns was too tempting so I chose a cinnamon bun to go with my generous latte. The café menu also includes breakfast options like scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, pancakes and French toast with maple bacon & crème fraiche. Sounds good doesn’t it, but I’m bet you’re wondering why this is also a great place to visit with kids.
Sharing a space with Lyall & Co is Jessie’s Art Shed. I first came across Jessie’s Art Shed at a pop up craft session she was running at Cogges Manor Farm in nearby Witney. My boys really enjoyed creating their own unique splatter art. A well established business running parties, workshops and art lessons, they have their own light filled space at the cafe.
Check out their website for the latest workshops that run for both adults and children as well as after school lessons.
When classes aren’t running, there’s lots of opportunities for kids to get creative with their craft bags, tailored by age. A popular choice, these allow children to let their imaginations run wild and create whatever they would like with the provided materials. Meanwhile you can enjoy a latte and muffin.
On the practical side of things, there are high chairs and a great big toilet with nappy changing facilities and enough room to wheel in a buggy or two!
