This weekend we visited Paradise Wildlife Park and WOW WOW WOW what a day!
Paradise Wildlife Park is situated in the heart of Hertfordshire in Broxbourne and is home to over 800 exotic wild animals. Caring for a large collection of Endangered species including Amur tigers, sun bears, red pandas and even exhibiting the largest green anaconda on display in the UK.
We started in the World of Dinosaurs and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the boys so excited! There are over 40 life-size moving and roaring animatronic dinosaurs for all ages to enjoy and explore. The dug for fossils, went inside a dinosaur egg and walked round seeing all different types of huge realistic dinosaurs!
They had the chance to sit in a truck in front of a roaring T Rex and we finished off with a ride on the Rex Express train going through the dinosaurs!
There is also a stage near the Dinosaur World with various shows throughout the day and the boys had the chance to meet a dinosaur and also stroke some baby dinosaurs .
We were so impressed with the number and size of play areas throughout the park! The boys particularly loved the fire engine and train with slides attached and Pirates Cove was a particular fave.
The giant slides and climbing walls over at Animal Kingdom were also a firm favourite for Freddie! It was so lovely to break up the walking around with so many fabulous play areas!
We are fans of a picnic as you know, but we decided to buy lunch at the park this time and it did not disappoint. The portions were HUGE and really reasonably priced. There are drinks and food stands scattered throughout the park with various places to sit so you can stop for refreshments whenever it takes your fancy!
Animal Kingdom was incredible! The enclosures were fantastic with lots of space however we still managed to feel as though we got up close and personal with a lot of the animals and we were able to see every animal!
A highlight for us all was definitely the lions who had decided to lay right next to the glass.
We saw everything from zebras, tigers and monkeys to farmyard animals, snakes, wolves and so much more. It really was a fabulous walk around animal kingdom.
There is also a CBBC programme based at the park called One Zoo Three which the boys love!
We got caught in a thunder storm but we found some shelter watching a giant tortoise and the boys jumped in puddles (thank goodness for puddle suits!).
The sun came back out and after a quick trip to the gift shop we finished our day at “Boulder Beach”! This was a fantastic artificial beach area with sun loungers, a splash pool with slide and sand. We did pack swimming stuff but all the other kiddos had run in with shorts or pants on so obviously the boys wanted to do the same.
Overall we were so impressed with Paradise Wildlife Park. There is so much to see and do but the park isn’t so big that the kids couldn’t walk around it relatively comfortably and the fun pit stops around the park really help!
We stayed all day, almost until closing and we didn’t even make it to the soft play area! Such a fabulous day out with so much to do.
