Point Blank Adventures Holiday Camp Review
Well established running outdoor holiday camps in Soulbury, Point Blank Adventures launched at Hogshaw Farm at May half term. I’d heard great things so was really pleased to have an invite for my boys to try it out this summer.
My youngest is 6 and this was his first holiday camp experience, he was a little nervous but had his two big brothers with him (11 and almost 13). He soon ditched them and made new friends.
Drop off was the holiday camp was quick and easy with a little meeting point next to the car park. I then took myself off to Hogshaw Farm cafe so I could catch up on work but also dip in and out of what was happening on the holiday camp. The holiday club review is a mix of my observations and the very chatty conversation with my boys about their experience. Parents are welcome to drop and go completely or you can take Hogshaw Farm up on their offer of the wifi and a free hot drink.
The Point Blank Adventure holiday camp blends a day out on the farm with bespoke outdoor activities and experiences in their dedicated camp area. As a first holiday camp for my youngest, I think it may have set his expectations a bit high for the future. There aren’t many holiday clubs where you get to feed farm animals, spot the lynx in the wildlife zone or go bouncy on a giant bouncy pillow .
Hogshaw Farm have special events running during the school holidays and this was Wildlife Week. The kids on the holiday camp also get involved in these extra activities too from meeting the animals to wildlife crafts.
Point Blank Adventures have their own private area at the edge of Hogshaw Farm where they have lunch and get stuck into lots of bespoke activities. There are yurt style tents set up which also give shelter if the weather isn’t so great.
My boys loved the balance board and team games and I hear they’re planning to install a slack line too.
One of the big highlights was the archery and axe throwing. Small groups mean everyone has lots of opportunity to practise with skills improving with tips from the instructors.
Will and Liv were absolutely great with the kids, keeping them engaged and having fun the whole time. They finished the session at the Hogshaw Farm new sand & water play area and came back a bit wet, full of giggles and non stop chat for the drive home (we were warned to bring a change of clothes).
The camp runs from 9am to 5:30pm with lots of variety throughout the day. It’s super easy for working parents too with lunch and snacks included so all you need to do is pack wellies and a change of clothes and send them off for a really fun day out.
