Rock Up | Indoor Climbing Centre Manchester

We often refer to our little girl as the mountain goat because she climbs on everything- despite us trying to tell her not to (but that’s a story for another day). So when my friend suggested we head to Rock Up Toddler sessions- I thought what a perfect idea.

Being a Friday, I had both girls so had my little girl in a sling and my toddler was ready to climb! We arrived at 9.30 prompt for toddler time a 55 minute climbing session followed by a bit of fun in the soft play. We were introduced to our instructor Fin, who was great with the children (and adults) and showed us how to safely use all the equipment!

I’m not sure quite what I was expecting but I was quite surprised to see they were full height climbing walls and the toddlers could climb as high as they wanted! However, I was definitely more apprehensive than any of the children who all took to it quite quickly! Fin even brought out some teddie bears who had got stuck half way up the wall and needing rescuing! It was a brilliant idea to help build confidence and make the day fun!

We absolutely loved climbing- I’m only gutted it was a toddler session and I couldn’t have a go but I definitely wouldn’t have been as brave as the children!

Afterwards I enjoyed a bite to eat from the cafe, and a latte with my friend whilst our toddlers played in the soft play! I would definitely recommend to anyone, the sessions are tailored to those under 5 and I somehow managed to do this with my baby in a sling! We are actually coming back very soon, though this time I will leave our youngest at home with Nannie!
