Based inside the building of Italia Conti Associates is a cute little play area in the design of a secret garden. This gorgeous set up has literally only opened this week and I can see that it’s going to be a huge success. From the main road you wouldn’t know that this little gem was hidden away.
Open daily from 9.30am till 3.30pm there is no time limit for how long you stay, so if you’re little ones are having fun then you could easily spend lots of time here, and even get a chance to sit and relax with a coffee. As from the seated area you can view the whole play area.
When you walk in you are greeted by a wonderfully decorated secret garden with the bright colours of a garden itself. There is a lot to capture the little ones imagination, the flooring has been designed to look like grass, and there are cute Lilly pads and mushrooms for them to climb on.
There are also various other soft play equipment which the little ones are able to climb on, and the tractor was a big hit with Isabella as she loved pulling the velcro tyres off and putting them back on.
Around the outside of the secret garden is interactive items on the wall, where you had a wooden sunflower which you could turn and have it change colour. There was like a wooden maze too where you could slide the different insects along and around the maze on the wall, this captured Isabella’s attention the most.
There was a lot of enjoyment in the ball pit area, although I didn’t loose Isabella at one point as it’s quite deep, but she found this hilarious and had lots of giggles. She enjoyed looking at herself in the mirrors too, as these are placed on the wall surrounding the ball pit.
The main feature to the secret garden is the rabbit hole, which is a fully enclosed play frame for the children to explore. The lower area have a tunnel for them to crawl and explore, hanging foam wands which they can walk through, and hidden behind are mirrors for them to look into.
On the upper level there are soft play items to crawl through, one of the windows has a garden design printed on it and Isabella loved peeking through this, and at the end of the play area is a slide which ends up on a Lilly pad. The playframe isn’t overly large but Isabella was confident enough to explore this on here own, and was easily accessible for a non confident walker too.
There are plenty of table and chairs around the play area where you can sit and have some refreshments. There is a small selection of hot drinks and snacks available for a small donation, and you are able to bring your own if you wish to do so.
Although parking outside is limited there is street parking which gives you 3 hours free or there is a public car park which is a short walk down the road.
