Snaprails Park is an attractive 3.5 hectare park located to the west of Owlsmoor in Sandhurst. The park provides an important recreation area as well as a through-route for many local residents.
We visited the children’s play area which is suitable for toddlers and juniors. This was newly refurbished last year (2022) and it is now a vibrant playground for the little ones to enjoy. The bright colours and new equipment were very appealing and we couldn’t wait to explore.
What’s at Snaprails Park For Kids?
- Slides (small & large one)
- Zip line
- Various swings
- Climbing frames
- Hoppers
- Educational apparatus
- Balancing beams
- Roundabout
It was also great to have lots of open grassy areas, a stream, a pond and native woodland to explore further. We enjoy combing a trip to the park with a little nature walk too.
We love taking down food for the ducks and watching them swim about. We also play poo sticks in the stream and have a race to see who’s stick will win the race. Such a simple free activity but keeps the children amused for a few minutes.
Snaprails Park also has:
- Picnic benches and seating areas
- Three footbridges, which enable access to the island over the lake
- A living willow tunnel in the Secret Garden
- A cycle way that passes through the central part of the site, linking Wellington Road with Sandhurst Sports Centre
- A selection of historic ornamental trees
This is a great place to spend the morning exploring or take a picnic with you and spend the day. There is lots to explore from the pond, the park or a walk in the woods. Or take a ball and have a little kick about too.
If you wanted to squeeze in another park visit on the same day, then about a 10minute walk away is another great park called Sandhurst Memorial Park.
