Birthday celebrations are a big thing in our family and we always try to get together as a wider family group. This of course brings its own trials as you try to satisfy needs and wants of every member. So on a recommendation from friends of the mother in law we headed out to Sturdy’s Castle.
Sturdy’s Castle is easy to find and get to from Kidlington; just head north on the A4260 for about 10/15 minutes and it’s there on the left hand side of the road. With plenty of parking we jump out and head in.
We’re greeted by a knight of the castle and shown to our table. The menu is plentiful and the children’s menu is good too. You can satisfy your need for a Sunday Roast or you can opt for your favourite pasta, sausages or burger or indulge in a choice of steaks.
With so much on the menu, everyone in the family excitedly finds something they want and are happy. Our drinks arrive and we catch up on our happenings of the week.
Soon afterwards the food arrives. Yum! The portion sizes are good, the kids are happy they arrive with just the right amount of food to hopefully leave room for dessert. Check out our snaps.
Older kids order off the adult menu and older adults with small appetites order from the kids menu. Sturdy’s have done a great job of being flexible and catering to all our tables wants.
We demolish the scrumptious meals. Some have room for dessert, some don’t. Some of us venture out to the playground. It isn’t open on this wet winter day, but looks good for a run around in and I want to return in the summer where I could sit, chill with a drink outside; whilst the young ones burn off their energy.
Desserts finish we head for home, totally stuffed and everyone has enjoyed themselves. Sturdy’s Castle definitely ticked a lot of our boxes and our family meal celebration was successful. We will be returning again in a few months to celebrate the next family birthday.
