The Ultimate Cheese Toastie
Why do lots of things a bit mediocre when you can do one thing perfectly? Nestled in the gorgeous village of Nettlebed, not far from Henley-on-Thames, there’s a large farm shed at Nettlebed Creamery that’s home to The Cheese Shed.
The Cheese Shed decor is rustic with a cool vibe with plenty of seating indoors and out. It’s not heated so if you’re visiting on a cooler day, wrap up warm. It’s a popular spot for cyclists and walkers to stop off at and dog friendly too.
Let’s dive straight into the cheese toasties because they are so good. Featuring Highmoor and Witheridge organic cheeses which are made on site, butter and locally produced toastie bread, the are amazing! The bread was crisp and buttery, the cheese oozing and with almost a tang. A whole other level to a cheddar toastie!
There’s aren’t other variations, just one very simple very delicious cheese toastie option, perfectly mastered. There’s also a soup of the day option, ice cream and smoothies.
Outside there’s pleny of space and it’s very relaxed so ideal if you’ve got kids who don’t like to sit still. There’s a big connect 4 game and room for pushchairs.

The Cheese Shed is part of Nettlebed Creamery, a farmhouse producer of award-winning organic artisan cheese, milk, kefit and icre cream. All the products are made onsite with organic milk from a farm a mile down the road.
The small farm shop is located within The Cheese Shed with a selection of cheeses, milk and other tasty treats including sourdough bread.
