We love a soft play visit so with Wacky Kingdom soft play in Kingston just opened, we had to check it out. Conveniently located in the Bentalls Centre the location is great as you can do a spot of shopping, entertain the children and also grab a bite to eat.

The brand new soft play in Kingston has is a 3 storey play frame all enclosed with netting, and lots of engaging obstacles spread out over the floors. The colours are very appealing to the eye and the design is very catchy.

In the centre of the main frame is a great slide which can accommodate four people on it. This goes from the top of the playframe straight down into the ball pit.

It’s a lot of fun and it’s fast! You do come down at a speed (having the balls at the end is a great idea as cushions your landing) There are also another two slides in this area along with a trampoline, tunnels, light up colour blocks, cargo nets to walk over, soft play blocks and lots of obstacles to climb under and over.

There was a separate small baby area which had a double slide which ends up in a secure ball pit. Inside the ball pit was also soft play blocks which they could climb on and also a range of books which they could read.

I did feel that there was too many balls in this area for the younger non walkers to fully enjoy as Isabella found it difficult to crawl in and couldn’t comfortably stand up either.

There were a couple of areas which weren’t 100% finished and I feel that maybe delaying the opening for a couple of days would have been more beneficial to ensure everything was accessible.

There is an indoor climbing wall which looks great and will be great if you have kids with a mix of ages, especially tweens and teens but was unavailable on our visit.  There’s a ball pit gun area which wasn’t fully finished but Noah still had a lot of fun shooting balls down onto the lower ground.

There is a café on site serving hot and cold beverages plus snacks, and around the soft play area are tables and chairs where you can take a well deserved break, or sit back and watch the little ones enjoying themselves.

Wacky Kingdom is a great soft play area but better for slightly older kids. For me having a non walker and a toddler it wasn’t suited for our needs. From the small baby area I couldn’t see the play frame clearly to ensure that Noah was safe as there were too many areas for him to be out of sight, so  it means that I needed to carry my youngest around with me. Some of the areas I was able to stand up fully, but most of the playframe you had to bend over in so having a baby in my arms too this proved very difficult. Once Isabella is walking we will come back and explore again.
