The Colourscape at Waddesdon is back this May half term.
Tickets always sell out quickly to this unique event.
We went in 2019 and my (then) 1 and 3 year old loved it. We actually went in one of the SEN quieter sessions as my little boy found loud noises difficult. After his initial wobble and tears at actually entering the inflatable tunnels he soon ran around and loved the experience. You all get given a colourful vest to wear (like a tabard) which helps with the colour inside the tunnels! These are my photos from a few years ago, on a bit of a rubbish phone and in very funky light so you get the idea, but apologies for the quality.
It is a very unique experience of colour and sound and quite tricky to describe! Hopefully these photos help give an idea of what to expect.
What Waddesdon say about the Colourscape
“…Long views of intense colour and light stretch out – the longest view ever created in Colourscape will appear in the ‘Aviary Colourscape’. Enter a new world where you can explore intense light, colour and space in 56 interlinked chambers and encounter unusual musical experiences during your journey.
Each day there will be different music and dance performances – resident musician, Michael Ormiston creates family-friendly free-flowing workshops for all on weekdays and at weekends we present Hurdy-Gurdy, panpipes, dance, flutes from around the world and a spectacular theatre-piece with dance and costumes.
