On Friday we headed to Watermead Lake in Aylesbury for a walk and to feed the ducks. Feeding the ducks is always one of the boys favourite things to do and it’s easy to do with such little cost – win win!
We headed to the small shop first to buy two medium tubs of duck food. If you get a plastic tub and return it when it’s empty you get a lollipop – happy boys!
There are two walking routes at Watermead, the larger side and if you cross the road there is a smaller route. We headed to the smaller side of the lake this time as it’s the perfect length for Parker to walk around the whole path, there’s an outdoor gym and obstacle course which the boys say is a fun park and they get to walk over a big bridge!
However, when we finished we walked a short way down the side of the big lake too and had a run around and picnic on the big open field there.
This was such a good day as the ducks were super hungry and followed us everywhere we went which they boys found really funny. There were so many ducks, geese and swans! It’s also a great place to spot lots of different birds. The ducks were super confident too and the boys got the chance to feed them really close up, although we were wary of the feisty geese!
This was such a lovely, easy morning out to do with the boys. They had lots of time outside, wore out their little legs and got up close with nature! What a fabulous activity to do.
We drove and there is a large free carpark
We took a picnic but the Watermead Inn is sat right by the lake if you want to buy lunch/refreshments!
