Willow and Wild subscription Box Review

A new way to learn about nature, Willow and Wild nature inspired monthly subscription boxes are aimed at children aged 3-9. It offers brilliant play ideas and activities to learn about nature through the seasons.  Their ideas combine craft and nature.

Each box aims to teach children about the changing seasons, how things grow, healthy eating, and life cycles. All box contents are plastic free (where possible), recyclable & seeds are organic.

They offer different types of subscriptions. The Letterbox subscription contains enough materials for 2 children to undertake the activities and contains some shared elements like growing and recipe cards and brushes and glue sticks. They also do a Siblings box, BumperBox, and One-Off boxes with no subscription commitment.

George is 3 and was so excited to receive a box in the post with his name on it! Our box was an Autumn box. It was packed full with brilliant nature guides and activities. It had 6 different activities, which were really well explained and easy to understand.

Our box contained information guides on how to grow Marigolds and Basil plants from seeds, plus the seeds, and compost disks, a cooking activity card for halloumi, vegetable and basil tray bake, a nature colour matching activity and nature mandalas, a pack of chalks, a nature walk hunt card, an information card on edible flowers, a make a nature loom activity card, an amazing butterfly poster, a picking out tool, and a garden glossary.

George really got into making the nature loom. He hunted for the sticks; our dog really enjoyed this activity too! Then he helped me cut string to the right length and tie the sticks together and made the loom. He found lots of interesting things in the garden to weave into the loom, including trying to add a conker!

We love planting seeds together and talking about the life cycle of plants, and we are really looking forward to using the basil once it has grown in the recipe.

The nature walk hunt card is really easy to use. George found it easy to recognise the different items from the images and tick them off.

Overall we loved this box! Packed full of good ideas to get children into nature and keep them busy!

They offer four different subscription terms, 3 months (£37.50 for 3 months, £12.50 per box), 6 months (£73.50 for 6 months) and 12 months (£144 for 12 months), as well as the month-by-month box that costs £12.50. Obviously the longer your subscription, the better value the boxes are.
