What’s On For Kids | May Half Term Oxfordshire 2025

May half term is set to be full of exciting family activities across Oxfordshire. Here’s the Red Kite Days guide to what’s on for kids in Oxfordshire and some great ideas for days out. From Banbury to Abingdon and Thame to Witney, we’ve got it covered! Stretch out a little further and there’s a great guide too for Berkshire and Buckinghamshire too.
SPOTLIGHT – HIGH LODGE FARM BIG BALE PLAY
High Lodge Farm will transform their field into a giant pop-up straw maze playground from 24th May to 1st June. Children of all ages can let off steam on the carefully constructed straw towers, pyramids, fortress, maze and even our bale pirate ship. Under 5s will have their own mini bale play too.

HogFest Countryside Fete half term fun at Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park (Hogsahw) 24th May – 1st June
Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park will have an action-packed week of family fun this May half term. Visit the Hogshaw Big Top to try your hand at circus skills, enjoy a ride on our miniature train, have at archery & axe throwing, challenge your friends and family to our féte style games and make new animal friends

Hedgehog Club half term activity days (near Witney) 28th – 29th May
Spend a day outside, building dens, bug hunting, natural crafts, using tools and knives and lighting fires, among other activities. These days are full days.

- John Lawson’s Circus at Millets Farm (Frilford, near Abingdon) 25th – 31st May
Splat Children’s Theatre Show at Chipping Norton Theatre (Chipping Norton) 27th May
Splat! is a physical comedy about Art and Creativity coming live on stage to The Theatre Chipping Norton. The show explores themes of collaboration, play, dedication, spontaneity and letting go.

Woodland Tales & Granded at the Cornerstone (Didcot) 31st May
Olivier-nominated Hattie Naylor has teamed up with Pickled Image once again, crafting a magical tale with an urgent environmental message, live on stage at the Cornerstone in Didcot. Featuring a cast of extraordinary puppets, this uproarious family show not only entertains, but has an important and timely environmental message to share.

Master Builders Club Lego Brick Building Session – sessions tbc
Build a story with LEGO! Master Builders Club will be providing 1000s of LEGO bricks that will transform the museum space into a LEGO fan’s paradise. Sessions are designed as a creative adventure that incorporates a playful learning experience whilst nurturing young minds. Suitable for all abilities of “Brickie” aged 5+.
