Red Kite Days Awards 2019 Winners

Wowzers – you went all out to support your local family favourites in the Red Kite Days Awards 2019, with literally thousands of people voting.  It was extremely close in many of the categories so a huge congratulations to all the finalists and a big thank you to everyone who supported by nominating and voting.   I’ve been a little later than I planned announcing the winners as there’s a draw in one of the categories and I’ve been back through a mountain of votes to double check.  Imagine the odds of that!

After checking out the winners, do scroll on down and check out the finalists too .  The voting was so close and there are some great places to try for a family day out, clubs & classes, family friendly restaurants and treats for Mum.

Here are the winners of the Red Kite Days Awards 2019

Red Kite Days Awards Winners

Oxford University Museum of Natural History – affectionately known as the ‘dinosaur museum’ by my kids, this was a firm favourite in your votes.   They are a  family friendly museum and you and your children are very welcome at any time. The Museum building is spacious and light, so perfect for little ones to explore and discover the wonders of the natural world.

Best for Eating Out

I can’t believe that there were exactly even votes for these two favourites so they are both crowned winners of the eating out category.

Mamma Mia (Summertown, Oxford) – Established over 35 years ago, it’s a popular spot with fantastic pizzas, great service and a lovely Italian and family friendly feel.

Air Raid Shelter Cafe & Tea Room (High Wycombe) – the cafe takes you back to the 1940s with their furnishing and a menu to match.

Best Indoor Play

Sprouts Play Barn at Millets Farm –  crowned winner in last year’s awards, Sprouts Play Barn have only gone and done it again!  They have a super large play area suitable for children and more recently they’ve also added an outdoor area making this a great option for soft play this summer.  Check out my review.
