Inspirational opportunities
Sport and the Performing Arts are particular strengths at The Beacon.
Whatever level the boys are playing at, they are coached and encouraged to develop a love of sport that will last a lifetime. Incredible facilities include a Sports hall, Astro turf, covered swimming pool and 16 acres of playing fields.
Music and Drama are also really important to School life and the boys enjoy using their 220-seat theatre, drama studio, and Mac-packed music technology suite. Over 200 boys sing in school choirs, over 300 take individual instrumental lessons and the whole school takes part in a huge range of productions every year, from Nativities and Shakespeare playlets to large-scale musicals.
Creative Arts are taught by passionate specialist teachers from Year 4 up, with the boys enjoying a fully-equipped Design & Technology Lab, Cooking & Nutrition room and bespoke Art Studio.
Nurturing pastoral team
The Beacon’s ethos is kindness, and strong pastoral care surrounds the boys from the moment they join. The school even has its own dedicated School Counsellor who provides incredible support if needed for both the boys and their families.
Wrap-around care
The School offers full wrap-around care, from Breakfast Club at 07:30 until 18:00 in the evening. It also offers a full range of holiday clubs and activities, which is a huge help for busy working parents.
