The Wizard Of Oz Panto at Queens Park Arts Centre Review

The Wizard of Oz is this year’s pantomime at The Queens Park Arts Centre and an exciting one for us as it was the boys first ever panto experience.

The boys are still young so we weren’t sure how they would find it, but as it’s a smaller more intimate setting it wasn’t overwhelming for them and they really enjoyed their first theatre experience! Freddie was also super chuffed with how close to the stage we were.

The cast were fantastic, so natural and very interactive with the audience. Two members of the audience were even bought on stage for us all to sing to them as it was their birthdays & they were given a gift!

I won’t give too much away but the way they used a lawyer throughout to explain why parts of the show had to be different to the film was very clever. It has to be said what Franny was by far our favourite character and Freddie is still talking about a scene involving custard pies! The story really was told so well.

The audience participation was fantastic and the show itself was hilarious. It brought lots of giggles from the boys but also some real belly laughs from us adults – the inuendos were fantastic.

During the interval we went to the cafe and had refreshments which were very reasonably priced and there was a fab selection. Every member of staff we met was very friendly and made an effort to talk to the boys which they loved.

This was a fabulous show, with a fantastic cast and a real family feel. We are so grateful we were able to go and the Panto at the Queens Park Art centre will definitely be a new annual tradition for us!
