Baby College offers award-winning interactive multisensory development classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers aged from 0-3+. Classes comprise music, movement, sensory games and activities, gentle yoga and stretching, cognitive brain development challenges of course the favourite parachute play and bubbles! First For Safety Oxfordshire provide a 2 hour Family Emergency First Aid Course.  All the first aid instructors are experienced serving Emergency Services Professionals. The fantastic, super friendly instructors are medics and nurses with years of frontline experience and many are parents too.  It’s usually delivered on an evening between 19:00 & 21:00 (flexible) in the comfort of your own home, so no need to travel or book childcare.

Baby & Toddler Groups around Witney & Carterton

Baby and toddler groups are a great low cost activity.  When you’re just starting out, they’re a great place to meet other mums with babies, make friends and gives you a focus to get out of the house.  The baby & toddler groups usually involve a mix of music, crafts, toys and refreshments which is perfect for when your little one is looking for a bit more stimulation.  There’s something on each day of the week in and around Witney.  Have a look further down at the classes section too as some of them are pay as you go.

Puddle Jumpers free stay and play 0-5s runs 9.15-10.45am Ceewood hall Witney. Numbers are limited so please arrive early. Once a month they do a buggy walk instead of the indoor session – keep an eye on the Facebook page for details (@homestartwitney).

Noah’s Ark infant group for babies & pre-school children 10-11:30am at Witney Congretional Church (Witney)

Freeland Baby and Toddler Group meets most Mondays in Freeland Village Hall from 09:30 – 11:30. There are lots of toys to be played with, grown-ups to chat to and hot drinks to enjoy.  (Freeland)

Carterton Family Centre Tiny Movers is a group for for parents with new babies running 11am-12pm.

Carterton Family Centre  soft play drop in runs 1pm to 2pm with soft play equipment for 0-4 year olds.

Tuesday

Walking & Talking outdoor support group – is a mother and baby coffee group, with a slight difference, where we focus on the wonderful physical and mental health benefits walking and talking offers, especially to new parents and pregnant women. 13:00 to 14:00/14:30, depending on if we stop for a drink at the end or not. Various venues around Witney (check website for when they’re running) £4 per family

Rhyme Time at Carterton Library runs on Tuesdays 10:30-11am term time. Join for a fun rhyme time with your under 5’s, with nursery rhymes, action songs. (Carterton)

Tiny Beans Toddler Group runs on Tuesdays from 9:30-11am at Carterton Methodist Church. £2 (Carterton)

Carterton Family Centre Baby Movers with music, singing and play activities for babies up to 12 months.

Little Splashers is a FREE groups for babies under 1 and their parent / carer with singing, sensory play & story time. Running 1-2pm numbers are limited so you must register for a place. (Witney)

Tiny Little Me is a baby and toddler group for children aged 0-4 years, which meets on a Wednesday between between 09:45 – 11:15. The group is run by members of The Welcome Church in Witney and their aim is to provide a time for free-play, stories, singing, dancing, craft and sensory activities for the older children, as well as a time to chat and reconnect with other parents and carers, whilst you watch your little ones play safely. Cogglets at Madley Park Hall welcome all children aged 0-5 years and their parents or carers. You will be welcomed with a fresh cup of coffee or tea, a slice of home-made cake and friendly face. (Witney)

Bampton Baby & Toddler Group is for children aged 0 to Pre-School age and their adults. The stay & play group meets every Thursday between 9:30 and 11:00 at The Village Hall on the Market Square in Bampton.

Carterton Family Centre  Stay & Play for 0-5 year olds in the morning and Song & Storytime in the afternoon.

Friday

Minster Lovell Baby & Toddler Group  are a voluntary run baby & toddler group that meets every Friday morning 10-11.30am at St Kenelm’s Village Hall in Minster Lovell. £2.50 per family. Everyone welcome!

Bumps & Babes Group – This informal group is open to anyone who is pregnant, or has a baby up to a year old (or very mobile!). You will be warmly welcomed with time to chat and meet other new parents. No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. The sessions are on Fridays, 10.30 – 12.00, at Part and Parcel, 2-4 Market Square, Witney, OX28 6AN.  £3

The closest soft play is at Carterton Leisure Centre which also has a little trampoline park too.

Head further south to Hocus Pocus soft play which has a lovely cafe and is perfect for young preschool aged children.
